Harp Lager Brewery c1963

The booklet covers the construction of the Harp Lager Brewery in Alton in the early 1960s, it includes details of the key people and companies that were involved in the construction, as well as a timeline and selection of photos taken during the process.

I presume this booklet was produced in early 1963, ready for the official opening ceremony by Lord Mountbatten which took place on the 28th June 1963.

The Brewery closed in May 2015, during its lifetime the site had been expanded several times and had changed hands, becoming Bass in the late 1970s, Coors in early 2000’s finally Molson Coors following a merger a couple of years later.

The site was redeveloped and is today a housing estate.
